Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Comment! Vous Ne Pouvez Pas Distinguer Les Femmes Honnêtes!... by Demetrius Emmanuel Galanis was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in May 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,101.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Demetrius Emmanuel Galanis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greek Femme En Noir in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 95,819.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Comment! Vous Ne Pouvez Pas Distinguer Les Femmes Honnêtes!... von Demetrius Emmanuel Galanis im Mai 2006 bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.101,93) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Demetrius Emmanuel Galanis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Greek Femme En Noir im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.250,00 (€ 95.819,21).
