Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work Mother And Child by Davida Allen. The price achieved of AUD 5,875.00 (€ 3,410.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Davida Allen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work With Knowledge of my Fourth Pregnancy, which sold at auction in November 2002 for AUD 19,975.00 (€ 11,264.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mother And Child von Davida Allen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 5.875,00 (€ 3.410,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Davida Allen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit With Knowledge of my Fourth Pregnancy beobachtet, die im November 2002 für AUD 19.975,00 (€ 11.264,60) versteigert wurde.
