In September 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Lossiemouth On The Moray Firth, Scotland by David West. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,915.06), 64% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David West - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Covesea Lighthouse, Lossiemouth, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 3,877.50 (€ 5,402.33).

Im September 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lossiemouth On The Moray Firth, Scotland von David West zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.314,50 (€ 1.915,06) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David West mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Covesea Lighthouse, Lossiemouth beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für GBP 3.877,50 (€ 5.402,33) versteigert wurde.
