Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings, which included the work An extensive mountainous landscape, with the Return from the Kermesse by David Vinckboons. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 41,296.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Vinckboons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elegant company in an ornamental garden in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 300,000.00 (€ 445,569.25).
