Despite a disappointment, a good price for David Rose
This work of art by David Rose could be acquired at Christies in Sydney in August 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Bateau Bay, (Morning) VIII changed hands for AUD 1,057.50 (€ 624.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 1,200.00 – 1,500.00. Despite this disappointing result, Bateau Bay, (Morning) VIII is the most expensive artwork by David Rose that we have observed at auction so far.
