This artwork by David Roberts achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July this year. In the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction, the work Street scene in Malines (Mechelen), Belgium, with the cathedral sold for GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,350.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jerusalem, from the South in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,155,314.09).

In der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours wurde die Arbeit Street scene in Malines (Mechelen), Belgium, with the cathedral für GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.350,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Roberts erzielen.
