Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Part of the hall of columns at Karnak, Thebes, Egypt by David Roberts was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction at Christies in London in July last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,640.00 (€ 21,065.29), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Roberts achieve. Die Arbeit Part of the hall of columns at Karnak, Thebes, Egypt von David Roberts wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 21.065,29) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
