Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900, which included the work Mosque, El Mooristan, Cairo, Egypt by David Roberts. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,569.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jerusalem, from the South in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,155,314.09).
