Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work Cape Blanco, Lebanon by David Roberts. The price achieved of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,195.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jerusalem, from the South in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,155,314.09).
