Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work (i) Untitled (4) (from The Collinasca Cycle)(ii) Untitled (5) (from The Collinasca Cycle)(iii) Untitled (6) (from The Collinasca Cycle) by David Rabinowitch was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 2,268.00. Admittedly, works by David Rabinowitch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (floor sculpture) in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 18,000.00 (€ 14,187.75).
