Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of Marcel Proust by David Levine. The price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,822.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by David Levine have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2007 the work A Finisher (recto); Study for figures on a beach (verso) was auctioned for USD 3,840.00 (€ 2,800.67).

Im Januar 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Marcel Proust von David Levine zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 1.822,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von David Levine konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2007 die Arbeit A Finisher (recto); Study for figures on a beach (verso) für USD 3.840,00 (€ 2.800,67) versteigert.
