Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pool On A Cloudy Day With Rain (Paper Pool 22) by David Hockney was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 4,867,900.00 (€ 5,429,771.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Hockney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).

Die Arbeit Pool On A Cloudy Day With Rain (Paper Pool 22) von David Hockney kam im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.867.900,00 (€ 5.429.771,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Hockney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
