Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Hamilton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2010. In the Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera auction, the work Waterways of China sold for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,590.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Hamilton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Danseuse. 1978., which sold at auction in December 2014 for CHF 5,160.00 (€ 4,292.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hamilton erzielte im September 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera wurde die Arbeit Waterways of China für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.590,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Hamilton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Danseuse. 1978. beobachtet, die im Dezember 2014 für CHF 5.160,00 (€ 4.292,25) versteigert wurde.
