Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Sheriff Knocking/Conditions Apply, Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, 2006 by David Goldblatt was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art Online auction at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,363.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Goldblatt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images of South Africa in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 51,510.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Sheriff Knocking/Conditions Apply, Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, 2006 von David Goldblatt wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art Online bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.363,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Goldblatt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images of South Africa im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 51.510,99).
