Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work South African 'Soccer City Stadium And The Ruins Of Shareworld. The Stadium Was Built Especially For The 2010 Soccer World Cup. Shareworld Was A Theme Park For The People Of Soweto, It Was Built And Went Bankrupt In The 1980S. 6 June 2009.' by David Goldblatt. The price achieved of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,505.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Goldblatt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images of South Africa, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 51,510.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit South African 'Soccer City Stadium And The Ruins Of Shareworld. The Stadium Was Built Especially For The 2010 Soccer World Cup. Shareworld Was A Theme Park For The People Of Soweto, It Was Built And Went Bankrupt In The 1980S. 6 June 2009.' von David Goldblatt zur Versteigerung kam.
