Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rain Along the Coast by David Rankin was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2005. The price achieved of AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,173.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Rankin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ridge-Mungo in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,882.67).

Die Arbeit Rain Along the Coast von David Rankin wurde im April 2005 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.585,00 (€ 2.173,92) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Rankin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ridge-Mungo im August 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.882,67).
