Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Husband and Wife Diptych by David Rankin. The price achieved of AUD 11,750.00 (€ 6,584.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Rankin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ridge-Mungo, which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,882.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Husband and Wife Diptych von David Rankin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 11.750,00 (€ 6.584,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Rankin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ridge-Mungo beobachtet, die im August 2003 für AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.882,67) versteigert wurde.
