Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Duroas Lake Wall by David Rankin was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2001. The price achieved of AUD 2,350.00 (€ 1,364.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Rankin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ridge-Mungo in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 23,500.00 (€ 13,882.67).

Die Arbeit Duroas Lake Wall von David Rankin kam im November 2001 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.350,00 (€ 1.364,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Rankin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ridge-Mungo im August 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 23.500,00 (€ 13.882,67).
