Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work The Same River (Triptych) by David Aspden. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 3,500.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,184.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David Aspden have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pennant Hills, No. 1, 1975 in June 2019 with an auction result of AUD 14,640.00 (€ 12,954.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Same River (Triptych) von David Aspden zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 3.500,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 3.585,00 (€ 2.184,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Aspden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pennant Hills, No. 1, 1975 im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 14.640,00 (€ 12.954,61).
