Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Australian ArtIncluding Works by New Zealand and South African Artists, which included the work St Ives by David Davies. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,191.23) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Davies - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venice, which sold at auction in May 2001 for AUD 37,600.00 (€ 22,537.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian ArtIncluding Works by New Zealand and South African Artists durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Ives von David Davies zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.191,23) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Davies mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Venice beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für AUD 37.600,00 (€ 22.537,76) versteigert wurde.
