Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Thomas Dickson aged 8 years, and a Favourite Poney Wendlestone. framed 68.0 x 80.5 x 6 cm (26 3/4 x 31 11/16 x 2 3/8 in). by David Dalby of York was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,048.00 (€ 1,877.5 Admittedly, works by David Dalby of York have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cock Robin, A Chestnut Hunter In A Wooded Landscape With A Mansion Beyond in December 2003 with an auction result of USD 17,925.00 (€ 14,229.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Thomas Dickson aged 8 years, and a Favourite Poney Wendlestone. framed 68.0 x 80.5 x 6 cm (26 3/4 x 31 11/16 x 2 3/8 in). von David Dalby of York im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.048,00 (€ 1.877,52) den Besitzer.
