Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,278.02). Admittedly, works by David Cox Jnr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Seine, Paris in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44).

Die Arbeit A Village Street With Figures And A Horseman, A Church Beyond von David Cox Jnr kam im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.278,02) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Cox Jnr auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On The Seine, Paris im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.684,44).
