Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View over a meandering river by David Cox Jnr was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,067.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Cox Jnr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Seine, Paris in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44).

Die Arbeit View over a meandering river von David Cox Jnr kam im Februar 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.067,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Cox Jnr erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Seine, Paris im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.684,44).
