Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Can He Play Ball With Us? by David Chan was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. It changed hands for a price of HKD 137,500.00 (€ 12,300.01) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Chan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work You Are So Special, Just Like Everyone Else in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 87,477.94).

Die Arbeit Can He Play Ball With Us? von David Chan wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 12.300,01) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Chan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit You Are So Special, Just Like Everyone Else im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 87.477,94).
