This artwork by David Butler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February last year. In the Outsider Art auction, the work Untitled (Train), circa 1980 sold for USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,011.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Butler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Walking Stick with Figure, circa 1975 in February last year with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,684.25).

In der Auktion Outsider Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Train), circa 1980 für USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.011,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Butler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Walking Stick with Figure, circa 1975 im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.684,25).
