Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three Kings by David Butler was sold in the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction at Christies in January this year. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,604.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Butler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walking Stick with Figure, circa 1975 in February last year with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,684.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Three Kings von David Butler wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.604,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Butler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walking Stick with Figure, circa 1975 im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.684,25).
