The work Fish by David Butler was worth USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,580.01) to a buyer in February last year. This price was achieved in the auction Outsider Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by David Butler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walking Stick with Figure, circa 1975 in February last year with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,684.25).
