Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunset, Mount Hilarion, Cyprus by David Bomberg was sold in the British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 595,800.00 (€ 694,261.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Bomberg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Church Of The Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem, which sold at auction in November 2015 for GBP 1,224,900.00 (€ 1,744,688.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sunset, Mount Hilarion, Cyprus von David Bomberg wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion British Art Evening Sale: Modern/Contemporary bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 595.800,00 (€ 694.261,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Bomberg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Church Of The Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem beobachtet, die im November 2015 für GBP 1.224.900,00 (€ 1.744.688,09) versteigert wurde.
