Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Still Life Fragment, After Zurbaran by David Bierk. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 8,400.00 (€ 6,443.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Bierk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Eulogy To Life, To Manet, To Gauguin, which sold at auction in May 2012 for CAD 26,400.00 (€ 20,630.60).
