Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Alison could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work Portrait of John Nairn (1853-1928), Seated Half-Length, In A Wicker Chair, Holding A Book changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 257.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Alison achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,710.35).
