This artwork by Darrel Austin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year. In the Discovery on Sunset auction, the work Will-of-the-Wisp 8 x 10in framed 14 x 16in sold for USD 1,792.00 (€ 1,642.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600.00. Admittedly, works by Darrel Austin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Spring in November 2020 with an auction result of USD 16,562.50 (€ 13,862.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Darrel Austin erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Discovery on Sunset wurde die Arbeit Will-of-the-Wisp 8 x 10in framed 14 x 16in für USD 1.792,00 (€ 1.642,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Darrel Austin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Spring im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.562,50 (€ 13.862,15).
