Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Benny, Stoplight Café, Cicero, Illinois by Danny Lyon was sold in the Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,080.00 (€ 4,107.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Danny Lyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,250.76).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.080,00 (€ 4.107,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
