Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Taking a Break by Daniel Ridgway Knight. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 67,922.48) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Daniel Ridgway Knight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coming from the Garden in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 402,000.00 (€ 462,387.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Taking a Break von Daniel Ridgway Knight zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 67.922,48) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Daniel Ridgway Knight auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coming from the Garden im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 402.000,00 (€ 462.387,85).
