Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work On The River'S Edge by Daniel Ridgway Knight for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,686.86). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Ridgway Knight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coming from the Garden in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 402,000.00 (€ 462,387.85).
