Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work On The River'S Edge by Daniel Ridgway Knight for USD 35,000.00 (€ 32,311.67). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Ridgway Knight achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Coming from the Garden in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 402,000.00 (€ 462,387.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit On The River'S Edge von Daniel Ridgway Knight für USD 35.000,00 (€ 32.311,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Ridgway Knight erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Coming from the Garden im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 402.000,00 (€ 462.387,85).
