Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Alphabet (U) by Danh Vō was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 756,000.00 (€ 83,733.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Danh Vō achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work VJ Star in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 602,500.00 (€ 842,747.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Alphabet (U) von Danh Vō im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 756.000,00 (€ 83.733,15) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Danh Vō erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit VJ Star im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 602.500,00 (€ 842.747,01).
