Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dana Schutz could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Now Evening Auction auction, the work Dead Zebra changed hands for USD 945,000.00 (€ 880,626.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Dana Schutz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elevator in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 50,050,000.00 (€ 5,279,190.52).
