In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Flowers In A Jug With Teapot by Ethel Walker. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,505.66), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ethel Walker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer Flowers in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 16,132.50 (€ 23,206.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers In A Jug With Teapot von Ethel Walker zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.505,66) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ethel Walker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer Flowers im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.132,50 (€ 23.206,51).
