This artwork by Ethel Walker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in December 2020. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Portrait of a Young Girl sold for GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,557.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ethel Walker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer Flowers in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 16,132.50 (€ 23,206.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ethel Walker erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a Young Girl für GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.557,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ethel Walker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer Flowers im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.132,50 (€ 23.206,51).
