Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work Head, 1960 by Dale Hickey for AUD 3,690.00 (€ 2,211.66). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Dale Hickey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Foyer (Bursey Theatre) in April 2001 with an auction result of AUD 32,900.00 (€ 18,893.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Head, 1960 von Dale Hickey für AUD 3.690,00 (€ 2.211,66) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dale Hickey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Foyer (Bursey Theatre) im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 32.900,00 (€ 18.893,22).
