Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Sindanglaya by Czeslaw Mystkowski. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 3,603.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Czeslaw Mystkowski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Reclining nude, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 9,850.00.
