Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2001 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Pictures, which included the work A tiger in the jungle by Cuthbert Edmund Swan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,041.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cuthbert Edmund Swan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tiger Hunt in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 18,000.00 (€ 14,258.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A tiger in the jungle von Cuthbert Edmund Swan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 1.041,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cuthbert Edmund Swan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Tiger Hunt im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.000,00 (€ 14.258,56).
