Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Manzanas Con Flores by Cristóbal Toral was auctioned at Christies in Madrid in October 2004, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 15,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 59,750.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cristóbal Toral; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Interior Con Bodegón sold at auction in October 2004 with the realized price of EUR 83,650.00.
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Manzanas Con Flores von Cristóbal Toral im Oktober 2004 bei Christies in Madrid versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 15.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 59.750,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cristóbal Toral; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Interior Con Bodegón im Oktober 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 83.650,00.
