Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cristiano Mangovo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2020. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art Online auction, the work Father Flowers sold for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,349.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cristiano Mangovo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dia De Felicidade, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,397.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cristiano Mangovo erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art Online wurde die Arbeit Father Flowers für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.349,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cristiano Mangovo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dia De Felicidade beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.397,13) versteigert wurde.
