Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Stewart Cruikshank, seated three-quarter-length, in a white shirt and red belt; and Portrait of Dorothy Cruikshank, seated three-quarter-length, in a black dress and red cloak by Cowan Dobson was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,073.31) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Other works by Cowan Dobson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2011 the work Portrait of Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham (1852-1936) was auctioned for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,761.26).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.073,31) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00.
