In the DUTCH, FLEMISH AND GERMAN OLD MASTER DRAWINGS auction, the work Fishermen loading their catch on a cart on the beach at Katwijk aan Zee sold for NLG 3,744.64 (€ 1,754.30) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cornelis van Noorde; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The dunes of Zandvoort, overlooking the beach with stranded fishing-boats sold at auction in November 2000 with the realized price of NLG 5,616.96 (€ 2,631.46).
