In February 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Sheep in a barn by Cornelis van Leemputten. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,633.83) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis van Leemputten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A ram, sheep and poultry in a landscape; and Sheep, ducks and poultry in a landscape., which sold at auction in March 2007 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,831.31).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep in a barn von Cornelis van Leemputten zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.633,83) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00.
