In March this year Bonhams held the auction European Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Sheep and Chickens in a Summer Pasture 10 1/4 x 13 3/8 in. (26.0 x 34.0 cm) in a period frame (under glass) 16 3/4 x 19 3/4 x 3 1/4 in. by Cornelis van Leemputten. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,167.50 (€ 1,993.65), 45% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Cornelis van Leemputten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A ram, sheep and poultry in a landscape; and Sheep, ducks and poultry in a landscape. in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,831.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion European Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep and Chickens in a Summer Pasture 10 1/4 x 13 3/8 in. (26.0 x 34.0 cm) in a period frame (under glass) 16 3/4 x 19 3/4 x 3 1/4 in. von Cornelis van Leemputten zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.167,50 (€ 1.993,65) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis van Leemputten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A ram, sheep and poultry in a landscape; and Sheep, ducks and poultry in a landscape. im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.831,31).
