Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cornelis Stangerus achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2004. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work An earthenware tankard, tobacco in a piece of paper, a bun, a white clay pipe, a roemer, sliced herring on a pewter plate and a kometenglas on a partly-draped wooden table sold for EUR 22,705.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Stangerus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A gentleman seated at a table with two serving girls, which sold at auction in July 2003 for GBP 57,360.00 (€ 74,973.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelis Stangerus erzielte im Mai 2004 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Stangerus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A gentleman seated at a table with two serving girls beobachtet, die im Juli 2003 für GBP 57.360,00 (€ 74.973,39) versteigert wurde.
