Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work A Wooded Landscape With Diana And Her Nymphs Bathing, A Satyr Spying From A Tree by Cornelis Stangerus. The price achieved of EUR 2,390.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Stangerus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A gentleman seated at a table with two serving girls in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 57,360.00 (€ 74,973.39).

Im September 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Diana And Her Nymphs Bathing, A Satyr Spying From A Tree von Cornelis Stangerus zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 2.390,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Stangerus erzielen.
